It's difficult to find musicians in the Islamic communities of southern California due to various societal pressures - religious or cultural. This group is intended to help create a space for musicians who promote the beauty of Music in all aspects of life - including religion. Hopefully we can collaborate and deliver these harmonies to the community at large.

Want to get your sox off? Want to play, NEED to play? We are a group of musicians who, from amateur to pro, lack a regular place to play and share our knowledge. Our aim is to progress, learning from others as we offer our wisdom to the group and entertain. We want to play, without ego, in a warm and nurturing professional setting. We have full PA, keyboard and amp. Sound is run by a pro engineer. Just come and plug in and play. If you don't have a pick up on your guitar we can mic both the guitar and your voice. We are a casual group of Ukulele strummers who like to get together to jam and have some fun. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or a pro, we are all about enjoying the music we can make together. Other instrument players and SINGERS are welcome !! LACMP is a place for adult musicians (particularly string players) to play in small musical ensembles. All levels are welcome from beginner to professional. Most of the meet ups are free, but some are classes for which we charge tuition. Most meet ups take place at the Metzler Violin Shop.
If you're a drummer (pro or amateur) or or a musician of another instrument who loves the drums, you're welcome to join the group! We're open for meet-up ideas. Anything from just getting together to shed and exchange practice techniques to gatherings for networking to checking out shows.
